In a previous blog post I have promised to create a blog post with real mobile homes in use…for your inspiration.
From 2003 to 2005 I lived in a four-bedroom mobile home on a private property in Nova Scotia, Canada for three years and I loved it. The place was surrounded by forests and on one side I could see the bay of Boylston. Every morning I saw a group of deer just a few meters away.
Since the beginning of 2017 I’m now living in a mobile home in a trailer park in Switzerland. I chose this lifestyle because I wanted to make first-hand experiences with and to learn what to do and what not to do as an owner of such a project. So far my experiences are rather about what not to do but that’s fine; actually, I’m really grateful for that experience because by seeing what a trailer park owner can do wrong is a far better learning experience. I’m sure we will make mistakes at the beginning, but we will certainly not make the same mistakes the owner of this park is making.
Anyway, I promised to share with you a few pictures from this trailer park and – you may not see it on the pictures – but they are quite big with nice yards. The yards are very small, but the ones in Forest Hill will be much larger.
I hope this will give you some inspiration.
Enjoy!
This cabin stands on a very small lot. You can imagine that the lots in Forest Hill will be at least four times larger.
This cabin has a huge yard, and on this picture you can only see part of it.
Here you can see that each cabin has its own parking lot.
Again, cabins with very small lots. Bigger ones would be too expensive in Switzerland. This is very different in Forest Hill.
I hope you enjoyed this slide show.
Please leave your comments below in the comment section so that I see that you are living beings and that this is not a one-side communication. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing photos from the Swiss trailer park. One thing that I would
consider is having a garage or a covered space for vehicles as the Maritimes can get
a lot of snow. And as I get older I am less enthralled and less capable at having to clean off my car after each storm. Just a thought.
Thank you for your comment, Judith. I’m glad you mentioned it. There is enough space to have a garage or car port. You can have whatever you want, as long as it’s made of natural materials.
